Thanks for signing up for your picture session!

In terms of location, there's a little park in front of City Hall in downtown Fairfax that would be a good place to take a picture. The address to the City of Fairfax City Hall is 10455 Armstrong St, Fairfax, VA 22030. You can park on Armstrong or in the parking lot behind the building. (Please see the map below) There is a grassy area and a small amphitheater to the right of City Hall. We will meet and take the photo there. We'll monitor the weather and adjust accordingly.

Having a professional LinkedIn headshot can play a huge role in having your profile show up in the searches of potential employers and recruiters. We have put together some tips as to how to prepare for your headshot session with Your Next Jump:

  • Make sure to dress in a way that reflects how you look on a daily basis in your professional life.

  • Don’t over-do it on the hair and makeup, but make yourself professional and presentable.

  • Be sure to arrive in a timely manner and with your hair and makeup completed so that we can focus on taking a great picture!

  • Wear professional attire or smart, business casual.

  • Solid colors tend to come across better on camera so be sure to take that into consideration when planning an outfit.

  • Smile. You want to maintain a professional and competent appearance while also portraying that you are friendly and approachable. Smiling plays a huge role in how you are perceived through photos.

  • Smiling while showing your teeth and having your eyes open (as opposed to squinting - which can send a more closed off message) has been shown to increase people’s perception of competence, likability, and influence in a photo.

These are great things to capitalize on in your job search.

After our meeting, we will send you the best pictures with our recommendations but ultimately you can choose which picture you would like to use. We will mainly be shooting the photo from the shoulder up with a prime lens.

Your photographer will be Elizabeth Reagan. She holds a degree in photography from  Ithaca College and has over a decade of experience in capturing the best in people through the camera lens.

Thanks. We look forward to meeting you!
